Wool Merchant Buckle and Chape

$10.00$26.00 single piece or set

We are extremely pleased to offer this late fourteenth-century buckle and chape set, based on the effigial brass of an unidentified wool merchant at the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul, Northleach, Gloucestershire. It is handsome and robust. The original had a large letter T in the square opening of the chape. Any stud that fits can be used, or the space can be left open if you prefer; the rivet through the center flower in the arcade holds the chape on.

Fits a 1 1/4 inch or 32 mm strap.
