Mary Magdalene is shown prostrate anointing Christ’s feet and drying them with her hair while he sits at a table with St. Peter and Simon the Pharisee. The original badge was found in France, and was part of Arthur Forgeais’ collection, but it has been lost. It has been dated 1279-1299. The size is based on an extant, but partial, badge of the saint of a similar shape, but with a different design.
