St. Catherine of Alexandria Brooch

Before her martyrdom, St. Catherine of Alexandria successfully debated theology against 50 pagan philosophers and converted several of them to Christianity on the spot. She is the patron of unmarried women and female students and scholars.

Our St. Catherine sign is based on several incomplete examples and includes a little bit of filling in of missing parts; the complete sign at Prague was published after we introduced our version.. Still, it is an attractive sign, with the saint wielding both her palm of martyrdom and the book that denotes her learning. Her feast day is November 25.
