Purse with Coin Pendant

$10.00

This super-excellent three-dimensional openwork purse has a coin that is free to move inside it. Those of you who are old enough may remember that we made a version of this almost 25 years ago. It was in inferior stone and we lost it to pieces breaking out. We occasionally have chip-outs these days, but in general we know more about what we are doing.

The English originals on which this was based were probably good luck tokens. We do not promise it will bring you prosperity – but it is so cute I reckon you are lucky just to have one! We also offer a smaller pendant purse and an adults only parody.

Product details: This is based on a number of examples in Spencer, Brian. Pilgrim Souvenirs and Secular Badges. Museum of London, 1998. It is most closely related to item 311, but with a single hanging loop as seen on other examples. The "coin" is based on the coin in that artifact.
