Livery Collar with Nicholas Rolin Chapes – Parts for DIY or Full Collar
$10.00 – $30.00 Fittings / Full Collars
We made these fittings as part of a buckle and chape suite, a translation into pewter of the belt worn by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor for the dukes of Burgundy, in his portrait by Rogier van der Weyden. But our customers soon understood that the chapes made a nice set of ends for livery collars on wider straps. They fit a 1 1/4 inch or 32 mm wide strap.
We offer two chapes, a pair of rings, and a trefoil (plus rivets to attach them to a strap) for $15 if you want to make a collar yourself.
We will also be glad to make a collar for you – we charge $30 for a collar of any reasonable length, with no additional decoration. We will be glad to attach a pendant. If it is the MOD pendant please choose that from the pull down options in addition to the collar/fittings; otherwise buy the pendant separately and add a note at checkout. See the links below for the other three SCA order pendants we supply. Please state the color of the collar.
Our standard length for this collar is 30 inches (75 cm). This is the most commonly ordered length, is long enough to go over anyone’s head unless they are wearing a big hat, and hangs at the right place on almost everyone. Drop us a note ahead of time if this is not the correct length for you.
If you want additional decorations, like studs, please contact us ahead of time to discuss the job. We are glad to help, and will quote the additional charge.
