Folding Spoon

$30.00

This folding spoon adapts into pewter the silver spoon (dated 1350-1400) in the Rotunda Museum in Scarborough (the only extant English medieval folding spoon). To fold the spoon, pull the little beast’s head back towards the diamond-shaped knop; fold the handle forward to the bowl. To open again, unfold, then position the beast’s head with his eyes on top, as if he were going to check out what you are eating; slide the head forward over the joint. (See a description with pictures of how this works!) This is great for traveling; it fits perfectly in your purse or the till of your chest.

length open – 4 7/8″ or 12.4 cm
