Buttons with Glass Stones

$1.75$23.00 ($20 per dozen; $23 for 14-button rainbow mix; single button sample is $1.75)

These stylish buttons with glass stones come in a wide array of colors and will perk up (nearly) any ensemble. The stones are cast in one with the button and will not fall out. In our experience you can wash and dry these (or any of our buttons) with the garments they are on as you usually do. They are based on an example found in London. From the context, the exemplar is dated to the mid-thirteenth century, but similar buttons were found in London in contexts reaching into the fifteenth century.

We have recently extended our range of colors. All of the stones are glass. A stone name that is followed by (O) is opaque glass; although fire-polished, most are not “shiny”. All other stones are translucent and foiled; they reflect a lot of light and are quite bright.

We also have rainbow mixes. Our six-hued mix includes red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The seven-hued mix bridges the gap between green and blue with aquamarine:
One dozen Buttons, 2 each of 6 hues ($20)
Fourteen Buttons, 2 each of 7 hues ($23)

We know if can be hard to distinguish shades on screen. You may order sample buttons at $1.75 each with any other order. We can only send one of any color in this sample program, but you may order as many single buttons of different colors as you like. Be sure to tell us in the notes at check out what color(s) you want.

We have provided additional images of some of the buttons where the stones fall into color groups. A few notes on the more confusing colors:
We currently have three whites (although we are seeking feedback about which you all like best). White is described by our supplier as chalk white; it is quite starkly white. Ivory is the stone we have been supplying; it is a vaguely yellowish off white. Opal is a new, translucent stone; it shows yellow reflections from the foil behind the milky glass. Each is nice in its own way.
Our six reds are: Red  (bright red), Fuchsia (a bright pink leaning toward purple), Garnet (very dark red), Rose (a redder pink), Cherry Red (opaque and the color of cinnamon candy hearts), and Red Brown (a little redder than root beer).  I know; we find it confusing also.

Please let us know if we can answer any questions for you about the colors!
