Bumps and Dishes Buckle and Chape with Matching Stud and Eyelet

$0.60$15.00 single piece or set

Our very first buckle and chape – accompanied by our first stud and eyelet.  All were made and introduced in 1994 (the stud has been replaced with a new mold since then).

The buckle is copied after several early 15th-century buckles in the Museum of London. There are additional buckles of this type in other collections in England. The chape is copied after a drawing of one found in London and held in a private collection. The Museum of London’s groundbreaking publication, Dress Accessories (1991) brought buckle, chape, and matching eyelet together in a sketch of a possible suite of contemporary items. We added a stud based on the extant examples of the other three parts. The gallery shows an authentic chape in this form, acquired long after we made the molds.

Fits a 3/4 inch or 19 mm wide strap.

See more about the eyelet and stud on their individual pages – or order from this page.
