Owl Brooch

$5.00

This excellent owl is copied after one of the examples found in Salisbury; other brooches from the same mold and other similar molds are known from London. It is dated to the 15th century. Like some other medieval depictions of owls, its face is a little more human-looking than is strictly naturalistic – or strictly comfortable to look at.
